Supporting student success through afterschool programs.

We are committed to providing high-quality afterschool service-learning experiences that help young people develop skills and confidence that will help them find success in school and in life.

We assist State Afterschool Networks in identifying the information needed to build a sustainable model for service-learning integration that will increase the quantity and quality of service-learning experiences for young people. Selected states received funding, technical support, and trainings so that service-learning becomes a sustainable and systematic part of afterschool learning.

“NYLC is our partner in championing service-learning in afterschool programs across Tennessee. Grant Opportunity for State Afterschool Networks

Considering initiatives to strengthen youth voice and empower youth to make real-world change? We are proud to announce a two-year, $50,000 grant opportunity for 3 State Afterschool Networks to champion service-learning with their out-of-school programs.

Since 2017, we have partnered with 14 members of the 50 State Afterschool Networks to integrate service-learning into afterschool programming. Most recently, we partnered with 4 networks to examine and report on how they leveraged service-learning as a strategy to increase youth engagement – read our Pathways to Impact report below.
