Civic engagement doesn’t have to be limited to government or social studies classes—it can be embedded across every subject and grade level. In this interactive workshop, educators will discover practical, classroom-ready strategies for helping students develop the knowledge, skills, and dispositions needed to become informed, engaged citizens through service-learning and authentic community problem-solving. Participants will explore how to integrate civic learning into existing curriculum, foster meaningful student voice, and create learning experiences that connect academic content to real-world impact. The session will also highlight how these practices align with State Seal of Civic Engagement, providing educators with actionable ideas to prepare students to earn the Seal while strengthening their schools and communities. Attendees will leave with lesson ideas, planning tools, and resources they can implement immediately.
