What to Expect

Throughout the year, we will convene this national group of service-learning practitioners to learn from each other, to challenge each other, to build trust with one another, and to continue to improve our service-learning capacity.

Six virtual sessions take place throughout the school year, guided by an experienced practitioner who can help you dig deeper into your practice. The content of each session is generated by the interests of the group and will include a focused conversation on a specific topic and an open dialogue. Topics covered may include:

  • Creating space for authentic youth voice
  • Engaging young people in community investigation

  • Developing meaningful youth-adult partnerships

  • Facilitating a service-learning experience

  • And so much more!

Participants stay connected, problem solve, and share resources beyond our virtual meetings through NYLC’s Google Classroom. We also provide tools and resources you can use in your practice!
