NYLC’s Service-Learning Resources Now Available in Arabic

ST. PAUL, Minn. (April 21, 2017) —In partnership with Qatar Foundation International (QFI), LLC, the National Youth Leadership Council is pleased to announce the translation of service-learning resources into Arabic. With this translation, the more than 420 million Arabic speakers worldwide will now have access to service-learning resources developed by NYLC, including the K-12 Service-Learning Standards for Quality Practice.

The complete set of resources includes worksheets, tip sheets, and information — which together form the core of what any student or educator needs to begin executing meaningful service-learning projects.

“We know service-learning has the power to change the world, but for that to happen service-learning as an idea has to expand its audience,” said Amy Meuers, National Youth Leadership Council CEO. “This is the first step.”

“We are excited to see our ongoing partnership with NYLC expand to further our commitment to engage youth in addressing global issues through service-learning. We will ensure this opportunity is open and accessible to all on our OER platform arabicalmasdar.com,” said Maggie Mitchell Salem, Executive Director of QFI. “This joint effort provides students and educators across borders the chance to grow beyond their classroom and their community and develop the super skills of 21st-century learning, the ‘4C’s’; communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity.”
