Take Action for the Common Good

A true leader makes a commitment to meaningful, equitable change. For over 30 years, the National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) has powered the next generation of leaders to take ownership on pressing issues. While racism, classism, and oppression affect us all, the youngest generation has the most at stake. But with the right resources and adult allies to support them – young people make meaningful change happen.

NYLC invites you to join us, July 10-15 at the University of Minnesota for six days of learning and fellowship. Attendees will arrive with a range of leadership experiences, and leave with:

  • Experience working in teams with people from different races, ethnicities, genders, geographies, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • The tools and knowledge to create equitable change in their communities.
  • Motivation to take action for the common good.
  • An enhanced awareness of social and political issues, including education equity.

After leaving NYLT, attendees will receive year-round support from NYLC staff and Youth Advisory Council members, as well as peer to peer mentorship from fellow program participants to aid in launching a service-learning project addressing education equity.
